The Cost of Protein Rich Foods

The cost of groceries in general is high these days so we thought it may be beneficial to do an analysis of the cost of some protein rich foods. Which foods are the most expensive (per gram of protein) and which are the cheapest?

As you can see in the graph above, the cheapest options for protein rich foods include chick peas, eggs, chicken, edamame, egg whites, lean ground beef and greek yogurt. Falling right in the middle is a high quality whey isolate protein powder. On the more expensive top half of the graph, you will find milk, cottage cheese, cheese, steak, almonds, white fish and salmon. 

Don't let the cost of groceries deter you from buying and consuming protein. There are affordable ways to get your protein in!
